December is always a busy month for the work of MCM down on Liverpool docks – but other events and happenings were encouraging too. It was great to hear the news that Peter Santos and his wife Paz were to be Baptised in early December and to get some pictures of this happening in the Philippines. Peter had come to faith in Christ through my intial contact here in Liverpool and then subsequently his wife too – we give thanks to God for this.
Later in the month the Cruise ship Boudicca came into Liverpool and with it our Good friends Durga and Romer, we received an invitation to go on board so it was great to meet up with them both . We had a great time of friendship and fellowship, and it was great meeting up with these guys.
As well as meeting many of our friends – December is a busy time for collecting Christmas items and making up the parcels for seafarers, many Churches and individuals partner with us in this. And then come the end of November we undertake a Christmas wrap when friends come and help us in this at Old Roan Baptist Church.
I was able to take these parcels onto a number of vessels and it was a real blessing to know that many of the crew appreciated the gifts that were given by so many.
We also made contact with a few Christian seafarers like John and Rodrigo it was good to encourage these men in their faith, we have also had contact with Francis (Kofi) Bassaw a Captain from Ghana. He and his crew will take a small bunkering vessel all the way to Lagos in Nigeria when the weather permits, Kofi has had fellowship with us for many weeks now . It was a real blessing to invite the crew to Christmas dinner at Church, on Christmas Day – which they throughly enjoyed along with a number of other folk. Yes December was a really busy time but it was also a great blessing in so many ways.
